As we close the chapter on another December and Christmas season and put up the decorations and wrappings, let’s remember the meaning of the holiday simply put in Luke 2:12, “And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Stop to ponder and contemplate the presence of this Mystery. Emmanuel has come; He is with us when we feel overwhelmed, fearful, lonely, happy or joyful. Come to the manger and see the face of the Savior...God in human flesh. He is Love, Hope, Meaning and Peace. Martin Luther wrote:
All praise to the Jesus, Eternal
Clothed in a garb of flesh and blood
Choosing a manger for Your Throne
While the worlds are Your alone
We have an eternal home because Jesus was willing to leave His home. Live with eternity in sight as you close this month and begin a new year.
