I love singing – both the hearing and singing of songs. There’s nothing like the sound of children’s voices or the sound of men’s voices blending together. The Bible says, in Mark 14:26, “When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.” Wow! Wouldn’t you love to hear Jesus and His twelve disciples break out into song? Wonder who sang lead (Peter?). Did they sing in harmony? Or maybe all together in unison? Many think the song referred to in this passage of Mark is the Hallel sung at the Passover. If so, Jesus sang “Praise to God” at His ‘last supper’ with His followers before His death on the cross. What great obedience – may I always be ready with a song of praise no matter what comes my way.
Jesus must have learned to sing from His Father because God sings too! “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17. God rejoices over you with joy! He loves you and has a purpose for you today. This scripture also is prophetic reminding that one day Jesus with reign over all His followers and the Lord will continue to have great joy in heaven.
Can you hear the song in heaven? Rejoice today remembering God sings a joyful song over you!
