Jesus’ birth fulfilled the prophecies of a Messiah! After four hundred years of silence, Jesus came into the world as just the right time and place. We may not think of prophecy when we reflect on the Christmas story, but it’s a huge part of the story. The gospel writers, Matthew and Luke refer to Old Testament prophecies from Isaiah, Jeremiah, Micah, and Malachi appealing to Jewish audience saying that Jesus is the awaited Messiah.
This Messiah, Jesus, came to save all people and offer them hope. God delivered on those promises (prophecies) centuries later – just as He said - at the place and moment of His choosing, through the birth of His beloved Son Jesus Christ.
